FORUM: FAITH AND WHY UNIONS MATTER

WHAT:

Why do unions and social justice matter to people of faith? What is the relationship between declining labor unions and increasing income inequality? We believe that unions can be a corrective force for assuring the God-given dignity of employees by giving them a voice in the workplace.

Speaker: Martin Hart- Landsberg -Professor Emeritus of Economics at Lewis and Clark College, Portland, OR -Executive board member of Portland Jobs with Justice -Member of the Workers’ Rights Board (Portland, Oregon) His areas of teaching and research include political economy, economic development, international economics, and the political economy of East Asia.
